Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling den wagering is not legal. Eight casinos are situated in a generally tiny location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect spot, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a few limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are supposedly needed to cross, there are ways around this, as is real of many borders.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked boat gambling den, contains 150 slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and sixty six of the common tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel building that features a number of amenities aside from the gambling den, which offers 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slots and 88 tables.
